...I am sitting in a small hotel on the Amazon Riverbank and earlier this afternoon the group of middleschool kids I am with shared in my visit to a small island where a Peruvian family hosted us for a brief stop to see where/how they live. I've been carrying the stone from Missoula in all of my Peruvian travels and as we boarded the boat to depart the isla, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the "ROSENSTEIN" and handed it to a small girl who was standing shoreside. She stood on the shore, rubbing the smooth stone between her fingers and smiling warmly as we pulled away from her home...
